National Gaming Day @ your library Game on!

North Star Games Extends Donation Offer!

Posted on August 25, 2010

When we opened registration for National Gaming Day last month, we knew the 1,000 copies of "Wits & Wagers Family" being donated by North Star Games would go quickly, and they did. It's been exactly one month so far, and more than 1,000 libraries have registered, with 98% of them requesting the game.

However, you're not out of luck if you haven't registered your library - yet. North Star has very generously extended its offer to donate 1,500 games instead of 1,000. This means there are 475 games left to claim, so hurry and register now before these extras are gone, too. You don't want to miss out on getting a copy of this great game for your library.

  1. Have we hit that 1,500 mark yet? I was curious because I just registered our library this morning and was wondering if we had a chance to get a copy of the game.

I can’t wait for National Gaming Day. We had a solid showing last year and hope to have even more this time around!

  2. Hi, Tiburcio –

We haven’t hit the 1,500 mark yet, so libraries can keep requesting free games. Please help spread the word and contact a friend at another library to let them know!

You can tell the donation is still running and that you’ll receive a free game if you’re able to check the box to request it when you register. When the 1,500 games are gone, the checkbox will no longer be available and the screen will say that all of the games have been claimed.

We’re working on some other reasons to register, though, so if you haven’t already, you’ll want to. More info when we have it….

  3. I was wondering how soon we would be receiving the games. There are quite a few games to mail out so I know it may take some time.
    Thank you!

  4. I’m just about to do a blog post that we’ve hit the magic 1,500 mark, although libraries that register can still participate in the DEMCO contest. I’m de-duping the database now and hope to send the final list to North Star early next week.

I imagine the games will ship around the end of October, but I’ll get an answer from the folks at NS and blog about it. I’ll also post once the games have gone out.

  5. Thank you Jenny!
